About

This blog emerges from a workshop project organized by three PhD students from the Universities of Copenhagen, Prague, and Heidelberg, taking place in Heidelberg from September 3rd to 4th, 2024. The workshop’s focus lies in exploring the use, opportunities, and risks of Artificial Intelligence in historical research.

As a lasting outcome of this project, we aim to develop a digital “handbook” in the form of a Hypotheses blog. This blog will provide a comprehensive overview of ongoing projects, tools, and methodologies of AI in history. Moreover, this digital resource will serve as a forum for addressing challenges and barriers that arise in applying AI to historical research. The blog targets both workshop participants and a broader audience, aiming to create an interactive space for discussing and informing about AI and historical scholarship.
